Classroom Response System

An important tool that is part of the "smart classroom" philosophy is the Classroom Response System.

When properly deployed and utilized, a CRS can provide the following enhancements to the teaching and learning process:

  • engage the learner
  • focus the learner on specific objectives
  • help the learner practice retrieval and application of information to answer questions
  • provide opportunities for feedback allowing students to understand why they missed specific questions
  • provide opportunities for repetition within the learning process.

Integration with OLLU WebCt

The Classroom Response System package is fully compatible with OLLU CMS (WebCt).

Instructors can engage their students in a lesson and record student responses then upload the information to WebCT for students and instructors to review online.

LITS maintains (6) portable CRS packages (from E-Instruction), comprised of 24 or 36 wireless response pads, the wireless receiver, and the required software. These systems can be checked out from Media Services as required for classroom instructional use.

Training on the effective use of the CRS package is always available through LITS and USIT.
